My Favorite Eye Shadows

Hello ladies!

I received a request to review what my favorite eye shadows were and I thought that was a great idea! Problem is I don't just have a few favorite eye shadows so I decided to do my favorite palette's of eye shadows.  I have three that I am in love with at this moment. Firstly, I'll start off with the most expensive and most well known palette and that is the Urban Decay Naked palette.

It seems as though everyone is in love with this palette and with good reason!  The pigment of the eye shadows are amazing and its such a neutral set that you can wear them everyday.  Best part for me was that you can go from day to night with just one palette.  My favorite for day time was half baked for the outer part of my lid and virgin to highlight my brow bone and inner tear duct.  At night I used creep for the outer part of my lid, sin on the inner part of my lid and virgin again to highlight.  The only down side to this palette is the price.  You can get Naked at Sephora or the Urban Decay website for $50.00, which in my eyes is a lot of money.  If you have the funds to do so I would recommend buying this palette its a great investment!

The second palette that I love is BH Cosmetics 28 Neutral color palette.  BH Cosmetics is not as well known as Urban Decay but its a great company that supplies a high quality product for half the price!

As you can see I love neutral colors.  They are easy to work with everyday.  This palette has great pigmentation and blends so easily, which to me is the best part.  Again with this palette you can go from day to night with its wide range of colors that you get.  Right now the palette is on sale at www.bhcosmetics.com for $12.32.  There are also many other palette's available at BH so if you are into more bright colors they have that for you too.  Shipping is pretty quick usually around 5-7 days.  The one down size to this palette is that its huge! You are definitely going to need a make table with some drawers or a on the counter organizer to keep this stored away.  But on the other hand I guess since its so big you are getting a lot of product for your money.

The last palette and my #1 favorite out of all of them is Elf's Studio Endless Eye Pro Mini.  Elf is also a well known company.  They provide great products and even greater prices which is great for a mother on a budget like myself.

I just recently purchased this palette from www.eyeslipsface.com and I am in love! Right now they have this palette on sale for just $5.00 and you get 32 wonderful colors.  I usually don't like the palette's that come with tons of eye shadows because chance is your going use about 5-6 of them.  But when I started playing around with this palette I could see myself using almost all of them.  I've done a few smokey eyes with the darker colors on the right and each of them was well pigmented and blended with the lighter colors on the left.  I have also been wearing the champagne colors on a daily bases and I love them.  The one down side I would say for this palette is that you only get a little product of each color.  But overall this is my #1 go to palette both for the quality and the price.

Hair routine: Curly Girl Method

Hey ladies!

For years I've struggled with my curly hair.  For so long I hated it and would straighten my hair daily.  About a month ago I came across a book called "The Curly Girl Method" and it changed my life.  The whole book was dedicated to girls with curly hair and how to treat your curly hair.  After reading it and trying it out for a week I realized that I had to modify the method for my hair.  I have curly hair but the curly hair that they speak of in the book is ethnic curly hair, which is much more dense and has a tighter curl.  So after about 2 weeks I have perfected my own curly girl method and I would love to share it with you guys!

Firstly, here are the all the products that I use on my hair.  I'll go into detail about each of them later on.
Curl enhancing smoothie, Curl creme brule, Lavish curl moisturizer, Coconut curlada condintioner, Curl & Shine shampoo

Ok here we go! First step begins in the shower.  It is so important to use a shampoo that does NOT have any sulfates.  Sulfates are very damaging to your hair especially on curly hair.  The shampoo I choose to use is Shea Moisture's Curl & Shine Shampoo.  I bought mine at Target for $9.99.

This shampoo is going to add moisture back into your hair, which you need if your curls are dry.  Take about a quarter size and work it into your scalp.  As you lather bring it down into the rest of your hair.  Be gentle when your lathering your hair.  Give yourself a scalp massage, this will help not disturb your curls.  Rinse out all the shampoo.  Next step is conidtioner.  I've choosen to use Curls Coconut curlada.  I bought it at Target for $10.

Again, your going to take about a quarter size of product and work it all over your hair.  If you have longer hair you can always use more.  Massage your scalp and concentrate on your ends.  You can also use this time to detangle your hair with your hands.  Let the conditioner sit for about 5 minutes.  When your risning it out you don't have to wash all of it out, it's always good to leave a little in your hair to keep some moisture in.  Once you've washed the majority of the conditioner out your ready to wrap your hair up.  Don't ever use a towel on your hair.  A towel is much to harsh for curly hair.  Instead use an old tshirt or micro fiber towel.  Take the tshirt/towel and wrap your hair up.  Do not dry your hair with the tshirt/towel.  Next while your hair is still very damp your going to apply your first curling style product.  I use Shea Moisture's Curl enhancing smoothie.  I bought it at Target for $9.99.

Take half a palms worth of product and comb it through your hair.  This will evenly distribute the product to your curls and detangle your hair further.  I personally do not put this product at the root of my hair because it makes my scalp to greasy.  Next your going to take Curls Creme brule.  I bought it at Target for $10.99.

With this product I use the same amount as the smoothie but I do apply it to my roots as well as the rest of my hair.  It's a lighter cream so I don't find that it leaves my roots greasy at all. After your done combing the product through your going to scrunch your hair all over including at the root.  Once all the produt is in you can either let your hair air dry or use a difusser to dry your air to 80%dry.  If you find that your hair is feeling a little dry you can add Curls Lavish curls moisturizer.

Its going to put back moisture if your hair lost some while you were blow drying it. And thats it! Now you have beautiful bouncy curls with NO frizz! Hope this helps out anyone with curly hair.  Learn to love your curly hair its a beautiful thing to have!

Product review: Not your mothers hair cream

I was so excited to try this product because of all the good reviews I have read about it. I bought 2 bottles of it from ulta.com and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I paid $5.99 for each bottle. The directions say to saturate the hair when wet and to comb it through with your fingers. You can either let your hair air dry or use a diffuser. I had to apply about half a palms worth of product to saturate my hair. I found the product to be sticky and kind of thick, which I didn't like. Also, the smell was a nice grape smell when I first applied it but after drying my hair it smelt more like dirty greasy hair yuck! So after drying my hair with a diffuser I noticed that it left my hair super crunchy. Usually when a product leaves your hair crunchy you can scrunch your curls and it'll lessen the crunchy feel but this didn't happen with this product. Now it says that it eliminates frizz...wrong! My hair was just a frizzy with this product then without it. Finally, this product contains silicone in it which I don't recommend for curling hair. Overall I would not recommend this product for curly hair. Between the horrible smell and crunchy feel to your hair it is not worth it!

New cleanser

I've been struggling lately with how dry my skin is, so I decided to try out a new cleanser. I went into Lush and picked out one of their organic cleansers. Because my skin is dry and sensitive I chose Auqa Marina. This is by far the BEST cleanser I have ever used. It takes off all my makeup and because it is a clay like texture I can leave it on for a few minutes as a mask. I use it both morning and night. I've noticed that my pores are less noticeable and my skin keeps in moisture much more. I paid $13 for a pretty big chunk. You can choose how much you want and they price it by the pound. I've had it for about a month now and I've barely made a dent in the piece that I bought. I would recommend this cleanser to everyone. Also Lush provides cleansers for every skin type so go out to your nearest store and try out all the products!
